Description Rainer Bielefeld 2003-06-30 13:19:23 UTC
I tested with 1.0.3.1. german version WIN98SE and also
1.1 Beta2 german version WIN98SE with same result

steps to reproduce:

0. open attached file volumenstrom_neu.sxc
1. save as EXCEL98/200/XP
2. close OOo
3. reopen OOo
4. Open created EXCEL-document 'volumenstrom_neu.xls'
   expected: complete data visible
actual: In chart Volumenstrom_Temperatur in the Diagram the
graph is missing, also units at X- and Y-axis are wrong.
Instead of Data-Definition (as in sxc)
           $'Tabellarische Aufstellung'.$A$1
           I find
           $TabellarischeAufstellung.$A$1

With the attached document this is 100% reproducible for me.

My questions to other testers:
- reproducible?
- all OS?
- how does the created XLS-document look in EXCEL?

The mentioned chart has its own dataset. It has no reference to cells
on a sheet.

Yes, so it is. I do not know how it happened that mentioned chart does
not use data from first sheet, might be I made something wrong when I
configured the chart :-)

I' do not know whether EXCEL can handle such charts. Should the OOo
export filter correct that?

By the way: samte test results with 644m11

Yes, constant source data for charts is possible in Excel:
- Open empty Excel sheet
- Insert -> Chart -> Finish (an empty window appears)
- Right-Click -> Source-Data -> Series
- Add -> Values -> ={1,2,3,4} (or ={1;2;3;4} in German locale)

These construct is called "constant matrix", and can be used in
spreadsheet formulas too. Calc does not support them, so the Excel
filters do not support them. The problem is, that in Excel some of the
data series can be linked to cells, and others can have constant
values. In Calc it is only possible to have either constant values or
linked values for all series.

The new chart implementation [1] will support separate source data for
each data series. And it is planned to add support for constant
matrixes in Calc. Therefore this should be fixed if this new
functionality is available.

The missing feature about constant values for series in charts is reported with
issue 64821. The issue description there is short and very easy to understand.
Therefor I would suggest to exceptionally close this older issue as duplicate.

Close as duplicate to issue 64821 as suggested by Ingrid.

Matrix constants are possible now in formulas, but still not possible for data series.
