please do not set any issue to NEW before any QA member has confirmed it . can not reproduce this with OOo1.1RC4 typed "a sentence ends. it's very .... got "a sentence ends. It's very .... reassigned to jw Still broken on RC4 for me. I think the crusial factor is that I have autocorrection set to replace single quotes with apostrophes. When I do not, the capitalisation works as expected. But try it with smart quotes on. That fails every time. Windows 2000 running with a UK English locale, and the autocorrect character for apostrophe set to 0x2019, which is the default. ok, now i can reproduce it. reassigned to os Target changed to OOo 2.0 *** Issue 22022 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** according to the announcement on releases (http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7503) this issue will be re-targeted to OOo Later. Note that there are other issues concerning capitalisation and "special characters". Beside this one, a quick query reveals these: Issue 17449 (Auto capitalization broken if field comes first in new sentence) Issue 28332 (Automatic First Word capitalization fails after quote.) Issue 59720 (Autocapitalization fails after numbers and symbols) Wow! six years after I reported this bug and someone noticed it. I think the general form is that if the word on either side of the sentence break contains a symbol such a smart quote, autocapitalisation will fail. eg, I know it doesn't work if the preceding word ends with a smart double quote. I have not tried it it words with non-ascii characters. *** Issue 103943 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
