It is possible to include frames in the document wide line numbering. Which is
good. But when activated, the numbers get placed outside the frame. I consider
the line numbering as part of the numbered text and therefore the numbers should
be placed inside the frame.

this is a standard behaviour. the line numbering always occurs outsite 
of the textframes, as it is for the whole document. 

i change the issue type to enhancement and reassign this top bh

enhancement: please add an option to set linenumbering in textframes 
as part of the text.

latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".

1) Insert - Frame... - OK
2) Tools - Line Numbering... - check Show numbering
3) Count - check Lines in text frames - OK

-> no line numbering

Why Tools - Line Numbering... - View - Interval=5 lines ?

Comment 6 fixed by changing interval to 1.
