If the first element in a word processor document is a table, 
followed by more text, you can't select the text by pressing [Ctrl]+A, 
because only the table is selected.

This happens even if the insertion mark is outside the table. 

If you use [shift]+[cursor keys] or the mouse in order to select more text, you 
cannot move the selection into the table, in other words, you can never select 
the whole docoment.

(this issue has existed since SO 5.2 at least)

I can Reproduce the problem on 
OpenOffice 1.1 (default Install, US), Win XP Pro Sp1. 
(And MS Office XP Sp2). 
It is real problem

I will attach the test doc. 
open it, ctrl+a will not select all
