Description netdragon 2003-11-23 21:18:22 UTC
When in Drawing view, there is no obvious button to press or keystroke to go to
the next slide. You have to go to notes view and then back to Drawing View. This
is not very convenient. Even when you right-click, there is nothing in the menu.

I forgot to add that the navigator is also another way, but people
might not always want the navigator visible.

PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN work ,too. And what is about clicking on the
page tabs below the slide?

reopen tis issue and change the issue type to enhancement. Thanks for
your help.

I was in what is called "Layer View" but thought I was in "Slide
View". None of those tabs are available when you have "Slide View" and
"Layer View" chosen at the same time at the bottom left of the screen,
though to a new user, there is no apparent difference. I was in this
each time, and was not seeing the tabs for the slides. PAGE UP and
PAGE DOWN also don't work in this mode.

The other thing is that Page Up and Page Down are not a keyboard
accelerator that is discoverable except by luck. There is no context
menu or menubar entry that shows "Next slide [Page Down]" or
"Previous slide [Page Up]" In the help file, it only says Page up and
Page down scroll the page up or down one screen. Keyboard accelerators
are virtually useless if they are not discoverable.

Please provide menubar and context menu options to advance the slides
showing the keys for the accelerator.

Is there a reason these don't work in outline view and is there any
way to make it more obvious to the user why they aren't working if he
or she doesn't know he or she is in outline view?

Please have alook at "Shortcut Keys for OpenOffice.org Impress" in the
help files. CTRL+PAGE UP or CTRL+PAGE DOWN are there for changing
slides and layers in the layer view. But I admit it would be goodto
have a possiblity to change the pages using the menu or context.
Reassinged to Bettina.
