Description searob 2003-12-11 10:09:52 UTC
Circular references presently generate an error, but if properly allowed, it
could be useful for analyzing progression of values.

When a circular reference is detected, a dialog box should display alerting the
user. It will default to the button "Error: Correct Formula" in which the user
can edit one of the cell references. Below the separator in the dialog box,
there will be a form for making a controlled circular reference which will have
defaults assigned. This form will have a vertical scroll bar for allowing a
large list of initial cell values and storage references.

List of control settings:
- Text box that accepts positive integers only; for milliseconds; defaults to
1000. Labeled "Interval Time".
- Text box that accepts positive integers only; for the number of times the user
wants the circular reference to loop; defaults to 1000. Labeled "Maximum Count".
- Select list in which the user selects which cell performs the initial
calculation. Defaults to the last cell selected which initiated the circular
reference dialog box. Labeled "Cell to Initiate Calculations".
- List of text boxes or cells to provide optional initial values for each cell
involved in the circular reference. Defaults to no characters (passed on string
will be "", integer will be 0). User may enter values or references to other
cells (no circular references here). Listing header label will be "Initial
Values". Each text box will be labeled with the cell row and column and name
(if named).
- Another column next ot the "Initial Values" column will be a text box or cell
to provide optional references to column locations on where to store the value
in each interval. Everytime a cell is updated with a new value in each
interval, the storage column will have a new corresponding value added to its
list in the next row down. The reference location will be the initial cell
where a value should be placed for that column which will start off with the
intitial value. Listing header label will be "Interval Value Storage Reference".
