Description poelzg 2003-12-23 11:39:34 UTC
I scanned an article with Omnipage 9 and saved it as *.rtf file (attached).
OO 1.1 RC4 hangs when opening it.
The file can be opened in Word 2000.
Probable reason: graphics block?

Hi poelzg,

thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice...

Please attach the rtf-file which makes the problem....

reassigned to mru

Hi poelzg,
please try out if this still happens with OO 1.1.0. If so, please attach the
offending rtf file to this issue (or send it directly to mru@openoffice.org, for
the case it contains confidential data). Otherwise we won't be able to reproduce
the problem here. Feel free to re-open the issue when you have done so.
Thanks for supporting us!
Comment 3 michael.ruess 2004-04-27 10:53:21 UTC
Closed, because no response for long time.
Comment 4 poelzg 2004-12-03 17:33:19 UTC
problem still persists in OO 1.1.3
rtf files generated with Word97 containing grafics are not similarly displayed
in OO.
I will tra to attach a file from a scan with Omnipage 9, which seems to contain
some odd grafics or letters.

Created attachment 20075 [details]
file from a scan with Omnipage 9
Comment 6 michael.ruess 2004-12-06 09:20:04 UTC
MRU->FLR: the attached File does not contain any graphics. But it is created by
a third party application (Omnipage) and this seems to make problems. Also,
before loop, the Assertion "Why are these tokens found in this section" appears.
When re-building this natively with Word, OO does not have any problems opening
this. Thus I lowered Prio to P4.
