Description craigaa 2004-01-27 06:34:42 UTC
When requesting a new project role in several projects (Marketing, Documentation
etc) the form that loads is incomplete and gives no options.

This has been tried with various browsers on Linux and Windows.

To see this defect click on the membership link at the project, then click the
Request project role link at the top of the page above the membership table. On
the next page that shows, there is no way to select a role in the gray field
under "Specify the role you want to request in the documentation project." It is
a plain text box with gray background, instead of an input box. If you click the
button to submit request anyway, a "missing field" error displays in the next
view. There is no way to request a role by following these links from the
membership pages.

I tested it using Mozilla on Mac. It worked fine. I'll ask support to look at this, as they have lots of
different browsers to play with.

I saw the failure with Mozilla 1.6 running on rh9 linux. I wonder if it a stray
blocked cookie or something... I'll try to dig around and play a little further
here too.

Is this a dupe of issue 7793?

for my own info, ref pcn13414

This may be right. The form does behave differently for me if I am not a member
just as in issue 7793. I have old comments on that issue too, so I have been
here before too. bummer.

I also have this problem.

When you look at the HTML source there is no data to select from.

I don't have Java on this machine - is that the problem?
Comment 8 ooo 2005-11-02 11:25:27 UTC
I also havde the problem when I use a browser on a machine with Java.

The four test browsers have been Konqueror 3.4.0 and FireFox 1.0.6 64 bit
without Java and Konqueror 3.3.2 and Firefox 1.0.2 32 bit with Java.
