Description lars 2004-01-31 18:23:16 UTC
Hi,

a 1,6 MB JPEG can cause - a 106 MB presentation file,
                        - sluggish Writer performance in - load time and
                                                         - document scrolling

Therefore: - Keep images in their original format or any lossless format
             requiring less space when saving,
           - Calculate the needed screen area for an image, take only those
pixels which are required from the file and put these images into a
bitmap of that size needed, (save this image in Windows GDI
buffer,) and use this image for displaying the page, so when
             scrolling etc.

Likely to be a duplicate of Issue 82100: jpeg file being converted to costly png
image.
