duplicate of issue 21439 ? Reassigned to SBA this is not only true for regular expressions but also for "simple" search and replace actions (e.g. replace 'a's with 'b's or change font size from 10 to 12. *sometimes*, oo requests that you turn off undo; whatever you do, however, the memory taken up is not released, until you exit the program and then there might be some lacking. My example (I have 256M memory on this machine): Free memory 212M, open 1.1.1 -- 202 M, load a 2Mb text file -- 184M, replace a with b -- 178M, close file (discard changes) -- 179 M, close openoffice -- 201M (hmmmmm.......)
