It currently seems impossible to do the following:

I have written a macro that translates any string so that it can be used as
barcode using the GNU barfonts. Unfortunately it is impossible to use a macro as
field in the writer application. While I can use my own functions in the calc
application quite straightforward ('=myfunc(parameters)'), I didn't find a way
to do the same in the writer.

I'd welcome this enhancement...

On a more general note, It would be great in one could pass variables to
macro's. I have a macro in base which autofills a field on a form with teh value
on another field. As my form has 5 of these fields (postadres = same as visiting
adress by default) I have to copy the same macro 5 times and change only the
variablename.
