Description andulvar 2004-03-31 16:57:06 UTC
When using the Spreadsheet application as a DDE server, there is a delay of
approximately 3 seconds between the time that the data is changed in a cell, and
the time that the XTYP_ADVDATA message is posted to the client. This delay is
being imparted by the Spreadsheet appliction - this is observable using the
DDESpy application. It appears that the delay is on a per-cell basis, and is
not due to a batching type of mechanism.

This mechanism might be intentional. If so, I have been unable to find a
documented method for turning it off. This delay makes the spreadsheet
application useless for certain types of applications, such as real-time stock
market analysis.

Hi,

I was told that this was asked on the mailinglists before and answered by
Mathias Bauer. It's intentional but if possible should made configurable. So I
re-flag this as request for enhancement and re-assign it.
