Description norbert2 2004-04-29 13:24:01 UTC
In writer its possible to move objects (pictures for example) that are anchored
to paragraph by moving the anchor with the mouse.

I think this should be also made possible for Calc if anchored to the cell.
Moving the anchor then to another cell should keep the relative(!) position, so
that the it has the same relative position to the "new" cell as it had to
the "old" cell.

What do you mean?

I'm myself not absolutely shure, if this would be useful.

When anchored to cell, the anchor is set to the cell where the top/left corner
of the object (image) is, when moving the object.

If it would be possible to move the anchor, I see the problem when moving the
anchor from a wide cell to a smaller cell. Then it could be impossible to keep
the relative position ... because anchor is always in the cell where the
top/left corner of the object is, like described above ... (There can be no
empty cell between the anchor and object.)

Just think about if this would make sense or not...

If you think it would be better to close this issue, I would have no problem...

If you decide to do so, you should also show a anchor when selecting a object
(picture) that is anchored to the page.
Writer does so. And in writer page-anchors can be moved from page to page to
move the object.
So, to be more consistent with writer you should also show page-achors if the
object is selected and allow them to be moved to an other sheet. (Like it is
possible with selected cells for example by holding them a while ofer a sheet's
tab until Calc switches to this sheet ...)

(You may also have a look at issue 28590, that describes a object drag&drop
problem. That what is described in issue 28590 should also be fixed for the here
described anchor drag&drop.)
