Description Regina Henschel 2004-05-05 14:42:22 UTC
The attached document renders so slowly that you can see the screen writing. It
happens during normal work that the document changes into this mode. I cannot
say which action a have done just before.
What is wrong with the document and how can I avoid the error? I have copied the
whole text to a new document where all is good, so it need no high priority. But
because this doesn't happened the first time, I am interested in the reason.

P.S.: works fine here with SuSE 9.1 and 1.1.2RC
Comment 3 mci 2004-05-05 16:02:16 UTC
hmmm,

works fine here on SOLARIS/SPARC using OOo1.1.2RC ...

MRU->HDU: This is only reproducable with Win98. On the same machine with Win2000
everything works fine and text is painted immediately on the screen.

Hello, I think I come a step nearer to the reason. On my maschine I have noticed
this:
Take the document and then go to paragraph style default -> Modify -> Position.
Turn off "Pair kerning" and the text is rendered in normal speed. But when
turning on "Pair kerning" again the text is again rendered very slowly.

Thanks Regina. This is a very important observation.

I think I can pinpoint the problem now into vcl/win/source/gei/salgdi3.cxx.

This issue will get fixed by the issue 26679 in CWS fontlists02 for target OOo2.0.
Need to verify on the master once the CWS got integrated.

just checked it with a SRC680m91 and it looks good. Closing issue.
