1. create a new presentation
2. create an object
3. fill the object with a new 'selfmade' color
4. save the document
5. load this document on any other machine
==>> the new color can't be used in the document again, because it's not saved
in the color list.

Tweaked summary.

To manage the many suggestions for enhancing the color palette, I have created a
meta-issue here:
Issue 105642 - Re-design and UI improvements for color palettes (meta-issue)

The purpose of the new issue is for management only, it does not duplicate
specific design requests (that we wish to capture).

Many thanks,
Andrew

Copied from duplicate issue 62830...

"It is really annoying that color schemas (*.soc) are not automatically stored in
drawing documents (*.odg) and templates (*otg). This makes usage of templates
unnecessarily unhandy. Furthermore you have always manually to upload the right
color schema when you are dealing with different templates. I would be happy if
this issue could be fixed."

Comment 7 ace_dent 2009-11-06 12:41:08 UTC
From dupe i106648:

"1. Create a shape
2. Go to Format:Area menu item, and colors tab.
3. create a custom color (not black), and save it, and then save the document.
4. Transfer document to another computer (or delete the custom color), re-open,
5. Repeat step 2.
It's not possible to select the custom color from the menu, or even modify it,
(the current custom color will show up as black in this window), clicking ok
will change the object's color to black."

... Since this will lead to data loss, I think it probably qualifies as a Defect...

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".

If I do need to use a "Custom Color", is there currently a way to export the
color (or color pallet)? so I can ship the "Document AND the custom color" to
another person ?
