Description acolvin 2004-05-22 09:33:45 UTC
I have a series of pages (8 in total) and tried to print as a brochure. This
failed with only pages 1 and 8 printing. I therefore decided to print to PDF
(PDF printer) and view the PDF in a viewer. The PDF created had the correct
document pages layed out in the correct printed page location, however, the
first printed page was laid out as Landscape. The 2nd and 3rd as portrait and
the 4th (and last) again as Landscape.

This did not happen with version 1.1

MRU->HI: for you...

OK, the 4th page has the same layout like Page 1 and 8 but it works. Please look
if there is another diffrence with p.4 to p.1 and p.8 like is it right or left
side...
Please provide the pdf file to visualize it for me.

Tried to reproduce this with an 8 page document with just text and failed and
then started adding pictures and couldn't reproduce error. I have therefore
attached the sxw file in case it is being caused by an error within it.

Ok, have done further investigation and have discovered that the layout breaks
after the contour is added to the picture on page one. This may be the
underlying fault and requires further investigation. Have not used contours
in a brochure document before and so would not have noticed this in previous
versions of OO.

I've tried to build such doc and was able to print without problem.
Do you have this behavior without mix of Landscape- and Portrait-Layout also?

OK just spent another hour investigating and it seems that it goes wrong when
there is no text on the page. This actually needs to be no text on either
page of the brochure document that get printed together. As soon as there is
one character for a page then it is alright. It seems that I sent you down
the wrong path. It is nothing to do with contours or pictures.

If you create an 8 page document and the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 on the
corresponding page. Now remove the numbers 2 and 7 and print to the pdf
(landscape, brochure, short edge) converter and the second page in the PDF
will be portrait.

I shall attach the almost empty file explained above. Sorry for any time that
you have wasted to date.

HI->PL: See the comments of acolvin from Wed May 26 => Reproducible and strange.
Occurs also in 1.1rc5 and current 680.
