try selecting text at the top of the page with mouse in attached document. 
although when curve is selected it's handles are located more or less at normal 
positions, trying to select the text results in selecting the curve - this 
prevents the text from easy selection and makes working with shapes harder.

MRU->OD: though the object's boundary isn't this large, it is not possible to
select the text at the beginning of the document with the mouse. the
fontart-object will always be selected instead.
