Hi Matthias, as you know, that feature was canceled for OO.o 2.0; you already set the target milestone correctly, as we decided to consider this feature for the next milestone release (OOo later). Thank you for reporting it. ------- Additional comments from gunamoi Tue May 25 18:41:46 -0700 2004 ------- I'm not sure why the option of setting independent zoom factors for each sheet in Calc comes under this issue. I'm quite happy with how most of the menus etc. work, and I'm not sure making them work the same as the "competition" needs to be a priority issue. Personally I think OpenOffice has no real competition. But, I would like to be able to set an independent zoom factor for each sheet in Calc. Not because the competition can do it, but because it is a very useful enhancement. As an example of how it might be used, I repeat what I've said in other issues which have been marked as duplicates of this one: For example, I have a file which contains several detailed sheets, one for each month of the year. These sheets are large, and the ability to zoom out with one selection of the overall zoom factor is good. But along with the monthly sheets, there is a summary sheet, which has less information. To make the summary more readable, I want to set a different zoom factor for that sheet. A local zoom factor that would ovreride the default zoom for the other shets, and would be saved with the file so it is remembered next time the file is loaded. ------- Additional comments from mkretzschmar Mon Jul 26 06:29:47 -0700 2004 ------- I'd just like to point out that the "duplicate" (*grr*) Issue 11354 has a (645-based) patch to use the Print Preview's zoom combo box code in other apps. Latest version: http://ooo.ximian.com/ooo-build/patches/OOO_1_1/zoom-combobox.diff *** Issue 45530 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 41120 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 51310 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 52500 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 55376 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 61879 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 63751 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** MS Office 2007 has even introduced a zoom-slider bootom left for each document. See Issue 75766, which is a more accurate categorization of this issue. gunamoi's comments below are directly on point and cogent. Add to cc What is the current status of this issue? This issue is taken as issue number 2 concerning the improvement of the zooming function. Issue 1598 covers it for the wordprocessor, this one might be taken for spreadsheet and a further one for Impress. @Frank. As discussed, please take over this one. Calc, Draw and Impress will implement the same slider implemented for Writer, after Beta, due to limited resources for integration. Link to spec (work in progress) for Calc, Draw and Impress implementation of the zoom slider: http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/statusbar/Zoom_in_Statusbar.odt Fixed. |
