Description edsuom 2002-02-24 00:02:11 UTC
The drop-down lists for autofiltering in the spreadsheet are only as wide as the
column they filter. In Excel 97, the lists are made as wide as they need to be,
independent of the column width.

Hi Ed,

this issue is for all OS's, the priority was much to high and it's an
feature request.

Also I think an value that is entered in one cell and exceeds the
column width is at least not readable, so I have to extend the width
of such cells and the dropdown listbox of the autofilter shows the
uncut value.

Nevertheless I give it to Falko for checking it.

It's an issue for me because I use some columns of a spreadsheet for
cell values that are mostly read by functions and not by people. The
values only need to be readable on the screen when the user is
selecting a value to filter from, and that's where the expanded-width
drop-down list would be very useful.

using build 644, the minimum width fot the drop-down list is not equal
with the column width, is wider as the string "- Standard -" (the
longest predefined string for this list)

Makes sense to me. Please bring this to feature commission.
