Description tuharsky 2004-07-22 06:59:52 UTC
I moved the sheet using right fader, and how the "row 10" "row 9" etc jumped
near the mouse, the rest of screen was refreshed incorrectly.

Hi Peter,

can you have a look at this one, please ?

I was not able to reproduce it.

@tuharsky
We need some more information. Please let us know what Linux distribution do you
use, the graphics card used ...

Well, I use Debian testing, fsn.hu .iso's released 18.5.2004 I think. Gnome 2.2,
kernel 2.6.7.
Graphics: Matrox Millenium G400, AGP 4x, 16M. Kernel DRM_MGA driver used, and
MGA driver for X. Xfree86 version 4.3.0

Screen 1024x768x24

If You have any other questions, I'll try to answer.

@tuharsky:
OK,
I have three questions at least:
1. Is OOo spreadsheet the only application that causes problems?
    a. Are there other OOo modules making trouble?
    b. Are there non OOo applications with the same issue?
2. Do you use metacity (AFAIK default for Gnome 2.2) as window manager?
Or did you change to anohther one? e.g. enlightment, sawfish or windowmaker
3. Please try different settings for the window focus behaviour. Does the
repaint issue vanish?

Peter

Yes, it probably is metacity (I found that somewhere in GNOME settings in list
of runing GNOME parts)

I don't know where can I affect focus behavior.

I have opened Writer too, entered some lines and moved the fader from page one
to page two and back. It displayed for me the "page 1/2" and "page 2/2" in
yellow rectangle, similary as the row numbers in Calc, but in the WRITER the
refresh seems working WELL.

Wowo, another detail: I also opened the Calc. The misbehavior I could'n
reproduce, the window was not fullscreen. Then I switched the window to
fullscreen mode (maximize) and now the bug is visible. Even after I switched the
window back to non-fullscreen mode, the bug still active!

I also opened Writer in normal window mode (non-fulscreen), no errors. I
switched it to fulscreen, no errors. Back to normal -no errors.

In one other attemp, no error could be reproduced even in Calc. But then, again
opening writer, switching to fullscreen and then opening Calc and switching to
fullscreen, bug reproduced again.

OK,
you need Gnome + full screen view. I now can reproduce at least the light grey
remains of the row indicator at the right side of the attached screen shot.
