I think all Gnome and all Windows users will hate it :-) About Windows and Gnome users: Qt compiles for Windows fine, besides, Qt is skinnable, so, it will work fine under both Windows and Gnome with their native Look&Feel. It will probably make OpenOffice work faster and more portable across different platforms. Since StarOffice and OpenOffice share the same codebase it is not an option to use Qt: We would be in need for commercial licences for StarOffice. Good luck in getting the funding. What is more we simply won't do it as we do not have the resources to do the port. If you are interested in a Qt based OOo please go to the ooo porting newsgroups and ask for volunteers and comments. As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified. As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. |
