Description wolframgarten 2004-10-28 10:14:20 UTC
Open a new doc and insert a short text. Open the fontwork flyer, select a style
and click ok: a new text with the style is inserted, the first inserted text is
not touched.
In the old fontwork implemenation this was possible. You frist have the text
and then you design it - not the other way arround.

sj->wg: this issue is not acceptable, this is more an idea than a defect also
the timeframe for a fix in OOo 2.0 is too short. Even in most of the competitive
products the feature you mentioned is not available.

In my eyes this is a defect because we were able to do this former versions and
now we can't. So this is broken. If other products do not have this function we
could be the first one who has it.
You will alway start with the text and then add the design, never the other way
arround.

sj->wg: Your idea is not bad, but as I already said, it is not possible to
implement this for OOo2.0.

In my opinion this issue is a "Feature" or "Enhancement", so if you have another
perception, then please discuss this with cl.

You are still able to use the old FontWork, so there is nothing broken.
-> Customize toolbar
-> Select your toolbar
-> Press Add
-> Choose the category "Format"
-> Select "Fontwork" and then press add.
