- go to Tools|Options|OpenOffice.org Base|Databases
- register an arbitrary database document (.odb) under an arbitrary name
- dismiss the dialog with OK
- remove or rename the .odb file which you just registered
- open a new text document
- press F4, opening the data source browser (DSB) this way
- in the DSB, expand the database which you just registered
- expand the "Tables" entry, this way trying to connect to the database
=> nothing happens, not even an error message is shown

There are 2 more points where an error messages should appear.

- When I select "Edit Database File" from context menu of a database
- the "open query design" button in the form property browser.

fs->msc: as agreed upon, I separated the property browser problem into issue
40463, since it's not as easy to fix as the data source browser problem.
For the data source browser, this one is fixed now.
