Description colm.smyth 2005-01-17 12:38:25 UTC
If you insert a field and then double-click on the right-most pixels of the last
character, it will not open. This is visible more often when the field is small
(has little data), e.g
- formula =1+1 (can only open by clicking on the left 2-3 pixels)
- blank document title (this is *impossible* to open)

This is a feature. Clicking on the left part of a field will activate it for
editin. Clicking on the right part of it will select the field (e.g. for
character format assignment).

I think you mixed up left and right in your response.

This mechanism is completely non-standard. The correct UI methods for the two
options are:
1. single click to *select* object (field)
2. double-click to open/edit the object

A proposal for enhancing editing-behaviour of fields.
