Description colm.smyth 2005-01-21 17:27:38 UTC
StarOffice has some Insert menu items without ellipses. SO-8 now adds some more.
Here is a complete list:
- Hyperlink
- Movie and Sound
- Floating Frame

Hyperlink could be argued to be a non-modal dialog, but in practice most users
use it modally.

I've targetted this for undetermined as I don't know if Tech Pubs/L10n can do it.

Confirmed. In OOo 1.9.74, on the insert menu, the items Hyperlink, Movie and
Sound, and Floating Frame do not have hyperlinks, but they present dialogs when
clicked on. They should have ellipses.

The same bug was observed in the Insert menu of OpenOffice 1.9.71.1
spreadsheet, Drawing and Presentation. It would good to mention this bug for
OpenOffice 1.9.71.1 Spreadsheet, Drawing and Presentation in the same report.

Ellipses are used if there is a step between menu command and the action,
typically a dialog. But if the dialog itself is the result of the action then
ellipses are not needed, e.g. "Options", "About".

BTW_ I am no longer officially active on OOo. Please take over.
