This string was changed when the menu and toolbars texts were centralized and synchronized for text consistency and better performance (the software is now faster due to this merge). The only solution that would not cost us performance is to adapt the Menu entry to read, e.g. "Full Screen On/Off" instead of "Full Screen". This is not necessarily good as menu entry so it must be considered along with other ideas. Technically speaking, when in full screen mode, the button on the toolbar that is visible is "pressed" (white) and therefore active. When you want to leave the mode, you "unpress" it. Unfortunately this technically correct situation is not visible to the user because there are no other buttons to compare it with to really see that it is "pressed". Retargeting to Office Later because too low priority accepting liz->MMP: for lack of a better solution, I suggest changing the string back to "Full Screen On/Off" like it was in SO7/OOo1.1 But it requires a UI change (spec?) so the little floating "toolbar" with the on/off text can have a separate text from the menu item "Full Screen" (GErman: Ganzer Bildschirm). IIRC you were interested in finding a more usable solution/text for this feature anyway, therefore assigning to you. FYI, in the past SO/OOo also said "Gesamtbild" in German, other products say "Ganzer Bildschirm" or "Ganze Bildschirmansicht ein/aus" or even "Vollbild". I am no longer officially active on OOo. Please take over. |
