see attached testcase. ungroup objects, select connector (to the right).
try dragging it's middle modifying point upwards. see how cursor is shown below
actual curve as it passes left endpoint.
drag it somewhere at the same height as the left endpoint, release. notice that
modifying point is not on the curve, but a lot higher.

Confirmed. Follow these steps:

1. Open the attached doc
2. Click on the two black triangular endpoints at point b.
3. Right click, choose Group > Ungroup.
4. Of those two endpoints again, click on the rightmost one. It should be
selected with a blue circle now.
5. Move the middle blue modifying endpoint by dragging it up toward the top of
the white page.
6. When you let go, you will notice the modifying point is no longer on the
line. It is up higher where you may not be able to see it. If you drag the whole
line, you'll be able to see how far off the line it is.

Using OOo 1.9.77. From what I could tell Word didn't even have a middle
modifying point for that line, so I don't know if this is really a bug or not.
Maybe a little annoying on occasion.

word has a modifying point which works approximately the same (and stays on the
line ;) )

MRU->WG: this also happens in Drawing component, so I gues it's one of the Draw
dev's. Could you please reassign to correct Dev contact. Thanks!

Reproducible.
Reassigned to Armin.
Comment 6 Armin Le Grand 2007-04-18 17:17:31 UTC
AW: It's a curved connector and indeed happens with all curved connectors, also
with new ones. The control point just moves too far after ending the interaction.
