TL->CMC: Can you have a look in this. Maybe it's a new version of MathType which we currently do not support? At least I think I remember having heard sth like that once some time ago... Well I have no problem with a recent 641 build, this is reported with a 605 which is very old now. If you (Artur) still have the problem with a recent build please attach an example document to this bugreport. Until then I'll have to mark this as working for me. Created attachment 1567 [details]

Hmm, I've checked wrong version number, I'm using OpenOffice 641, and this problem exists, but now I think that I have bad fonts or something. I have new installation of OpenOffice (it is my first contact with this product), so IMHO it should be usable, but maybe I've forgot something. In attachment IÂ’ve added bitmap to show how it is looks like , and simple file generated by M$ Word. Ok I get the same problem with your sample document. That's not a word document with an equation in it. Thats an rtf document with a picture of an equation in it. A vector graphic. Someplace along the line the font being used to draw the characters by OOo is either the wrong one, or does not exist and word's font substition or something of that nature is working better than ours. I'll see about extracting the graphic and seeing if its an issue for the graphics team, or if the rtf font substition has any bearing on it. Created attachment 1594 [details]

cmc->sj: The last attachment is a wmf which, when inserted in word, looks fine. But seems to use a different incorrect font or something when inserted in writer :-( I will check how we can fix this bug Sven :-) This is probably a completely wrong guess, but I wonder if the vcl CreateFontToSubsFontConverter used to convert common ms symbol fonts to starsymbol might be useful here ? In writer we its used to convert many unfound symbols in missing ms symbolfonts to starsymbol, so our bullets look ok under X where we don't have wingdings etc, wmf import doesn't seem to do this sort of substitution for me. For .doc bullet export i'm considering a reverse conversion using those same tables in vcl/gdi/fontcvt.cxx to search for a possible symbol font and position in common ms fonts that match a given starsymbol position, it would solve our problems of exporting bullets to word, and might also be usable as a temporary hack around the problems of using wmf as ole previews for the equation font. Embedding fonts would be better, but in the short term this might be a workaround. Changed target to OOo 2.0 . .
