the original gif logo
Hi Frank, attached is a doc wich shows the problem. I've also attached the logo that I used. In the attached doc goto "Page Preview" and you will see the very small logo. Reproduce the problem. I has been inserted using Format - Page - Header on - More - Background - Graphics -Browse .... (Using "Position" to place the image) If I check or uncheck "AutoHeight" doesn't change anything. In page Preview you can see the very small logo. If you insert the logo in a normal cell via insert graphics, the size of it is ok. (You might have to generate a pdf after all has benn inserted only then the problem occurs !! - uncofirmed) Marc Hi, currently this works as intended. The picture is scaled to fit in a normal Header based on some data from the resolution and the printer settings (according to the development). The function you're using isn't intended for Logos but for background graphics to fill the header instead of a solid color. As this works as defined I've changed the Issuetype to enhancement and re-assign it to the requirements team for evaluation. Frank *** Issue 65926 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** It seems that Issue 43985 and Issue 69446 are closely related... Hello, given that the feature is meant as a "solid color replacement" it is formally an enhancement. But I would rather call it a valid misuse case, we have the same problem in our company with images in Headers: - We have preprinted paper (header logo and footer logo) in our company, but we also send out a lot of stuff via PDF. - We do not want to maintain different Document templates for each use case as this is not known beforehand when initially creating the document. - We'd like to work with the "print background" property of the printing dialog to allow using preprinted paper because there is no specialized other feature for this use case. - I.e. we would either need a specialized feature for printing / not printing certain images or a background image behaviour that allows the misuse case. A different issue plays into this question, too: the "print background" property in the extended print dialogue does not affect the header and footer backgrounds. May be by design, too although it does not make a whole lot of sense to me. I couldn't find an issue # for this. Side note: I have tested OOo3 beta and I was able to insert a PNG image scaled as given in the image metadata. This works only with PNG images. So much about my (more than) two cents, thanks for the good work on OOo anyways. #8664 seems to be somewhat related, too. Nikolaus Created attachment 82774 [details] New Test Kit I created a new test kit (intentionally for Bug 69446) with 2 spreadhseets using very similar pictures, logo072dpx.png created with IrfanView from logo180dpx.png by modifying dpi value. logo180dpx.png is much smaller in poage header, logo072dpx.png is much bigger in page header than same picture in sheet contents. I can't completely agree with Comment 5, and I think that New Test Kit falsifies the argumentation. The headers of both spreadhseets have the same dimension, and so a background-square due to Comment 5 should have the same dimension in header. But as you can see in test kit, reality is different to arguments in comment 5, size is very different comparing both spreadsheets. this problem is even worse because many users have to "abuse" the background picture function to simulate a "picture in page heading" function, what is missing in AOO. *** Issue 69446 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** |
