Word document with misaligned form fields. none

Description ptah 2005-03-10 16:14:19 UTC
The document attached was written with Microsoft Word. By opening it, Open
Office had done these mistakes:
1) lines of "_" symbols (entered as a default form field) showing how much
place should text take up, take more place than they do in MS Word. (This
scrambles all formatting)
2) spaces after second level auto numbers are not preserved. (Was "1.1 aa",
became "1.1aa")
3) some paragraph endings make extra numbers to appear (no 5 for instance, a
page break was meant to follow the ending paragraph, and nothing more, but OO
decides to add a number) (issue mixes up numbering a bit).

MRU->FLR: the input fields are sometimes too long, so that there are too many
line breaks insisted.
The numbering problems are already tracked.

I encountered a similar problem where the formatting and alignment of the form
fields is off when an MS Word documents with form fields is imported. I verified
the problem with OOo-1.1.4 and OOo-2.0 (m122) on both Windows2000 and Fedora
Core 3 Linux.
I am attaching the offending MS Word document DARPA60.doc.
