Description chuck_hamilton 2005-03-24 19:48:02 UTC
Version 1.9.79

If you copy a highlghted line of an outlne to the windows clipboard and paste
into another application, it not only pastes the highlighted text, but also the
number/letter of the first line of the same level of the outline. For example if
you have something like this...

1 This is the first line
  a) level 2 line 1
  b) level 2 line 2

Highlight "level 2 line 2" (don't highlight "b) ") and copy to clipboard, then
paste into notepad. You will paste "a)level 2 line 2". I have a document that
demonstrates this bug but cannot find any way to attach it to this issue. If you
want it please email me at chuck_hamilton@newspapersupport.com and I'll gladly
forward it. Maybe after submitting the issue there'll be an option to attach it.

same problem exists in 1.9.87

@chuck_hamilton: thought I'd have a look after your inquiry in discuss ;-)

I can reproduce your problem, but I very much doubt that this is a bug: since
there's no way to select the number/bullet part for a single line, somebody made
the decision to copy the whole line to the clipboard. Then, you can delete
extraneous content at the target location, whereas for the other way 'round, you
won't be able to copy that part at all.

@chuck_hamilton: Ah. Forgive me my ignorance. I now see your point (if that was
the "a) level 2 line 2" instead of "b) level 2 line 2" thingy). Reproducible in
m86, seemingly for all clipboard formats.

Reassigned to ES

ES->DVO: Provided, a numbered text, "a) this is a test".
when copy/pasting this text as HTML one should have:
- "a) this is a test" -> because HTML supports numbering (currently, one gets
"this is a test")

All other formats are Ok. When selecting a numbered text from first character to
end of line, this selection will internally include (even if not shown on the
screen) the numbering which is a formatting.
