Description halmai 2002-05-11 11:11:12 UTC
Dear Developers,

I have a problem for several versions of OOo. The problem is described bellow.
I do the following steps:
-start the word processor
-Insert->Table->OK (I leave everything on the default settings, so "Don't split
table" is off i.e. splitting is allowed)
I start to type something into the upper left cell, a lot of characters. It
fills the first row of this cell, the second row, and so on. So the cell is
growing vertically. If I type so much that the cell becomes bigger than the
page then occurs the problem why I write.
The problem is that the newer letters are invisible, they are beyond the bottom
margin. Instead this, I would like to see the letters of this cell on the top
of the next page, as the MS Word does it.

If I open such a MSWord document which has a table with one cell which is
higher than one page (so it flows to the second page) then the last lines are
invisible in OOo (and the document has only one page).

So the problem is that OOo can not work properly with cells larger than one
page.

My suggession is to extend the functionality the "don't split table" flag. I
think there should be three possible choices:
-don't split table at all
-allow splitting table only between cells
-allow splitting table inside cells to

Could You do this for me, please? I wish it since StarOffice 5.2...:)

Best regards,

Csongor HALMAI

Setting priority to P1 or P2 and Issue type to ENHANCEMENT would be
fine :)
