It would be very convenient if there was a DOM (document object model) view in
the drawing application (and in the presentation application). It would
present a tree of objects that are present on the current page of the drawing.
It would help a lot with:

- selecting objects: on complex drawings and slides it's often difficult ot
select the right objects with the mouse. Also sometimes, objects are hidden by
other objects which complicates selection even more
- knowing what is actually on the drawing. I have a couple of documents that I
update regularly. These documents tend to accumulate "garbage" i.e. stuff that
I created but forgot about or that is hidden by other components. A DOM-view
would help alot in cleaning this up.

"DOM" is the wrong term here. The requested view is available in the Navigator. Meanwhile the navigator is able to show unnamed shapes too, only selecting of unnamed shapes via Navigator is still not possible (but that is another issue). And in contrast to OOo1.1.5 the Navigator now shows the content of groups too, so that you get the requested "tree-view". I suggest to close issue as "obsolete".
