Description timcastle 2005-05-17 20:47:58 UTC
When exporting PDF, the resulting links are not relative, but absolute. This is
problematic when making documents with links to other pdfs and trying to
distribute on CD.
Comment 1 timcastle 2005-05-17 20:49:23 UTC
Should use relative links if selected in Tools-Options-Load/Save-General.

Reassigned to HI.
Comment 3 h.ilter 2005-06-03 11:50:50 UTC
Issue type changed from defect to enhancement.
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld 2005-07-14 10:11:52 UTC
I also would prefer a possibility to leave hyperlinks relative in exported
PDF-files, but I think a solution as per "Additional comments from timcastle Tue
May 17 12:49:23 -0700 2005" would be dangerous.

Reason: Export can be to any place on any harddisk on the PC or even somewhere
in a Network, but relatiev links as they were in the original OOo document can
only work, if the export will lead to the folder of the original OOo document.
So I think it would be better to have a checkbox directly in the "PDF Options"
box for the export: "export to folder of original document and leave relative
hyperlinks relative.
Comment 5 Rainer Bielefeld 2005-07-14 10:13:23 UTC
Changed Component, because not only interesting for Writer

I think that this issue is somehow similar to issue 56629.
Can the reporter confirm ?
Comment 8 timcastle 2006-08-01 18:52:10 UTC
No, the issue I had was with other pdf files not opening unlike 56629 which
refers to text files.
Comment 9 Giuseppe Castagno (aka beppec56) 2006-08-01 19:20:06 UTC
-> timcastle.
Thanks for answering.
On issue 56629, desc9; I added an attachement and on the following comment I
provided a brief description. In that attachement there is a PDF file obtained
from OOo through a Java application, inside there the PDFs are relatively
linked. I wrote the Java application to obtain a CD-romable series of document.

It seems that the linked PDF (be it generated by OOo or an already existent PDF)
described here are a subset of what I proposed there on issue 56629.

Could you have a look there if you can spare some time ?
I'd like to have a clear idea, it's something that I'd like to implement in OOo.

Thanks.

Comment 11 Giuseppe Castagno (aka beppec56) 2008-02-22 14:04:18 UTC
I think that the current 2.4 snapshot should fix this.
Can someone have a look?
Or adjust the summary if it's the case.
Comment 12 Rainer Bielefeld 2008-03-05 10:54:50 UTC
I checked with "2.4 RC2 Multilingual German version WIN XP: [680m8(Build9276)]"
and indeed I see that links will be exported relative, if the correspondent
checkbox in the PDF export dialogue has been checked. I tested with WRITER, DRAW
and also CALC. A link to a file in a subfolder also will work in the pdf Folder
after the name of the folder containing exported PDF and subfolders has been
changed.
