Description naya2005 2005-06-16 02:09:44 UTC
Using English version of Windows 2003 (It probably happens in other Windows OS's
as well).

To reproduce:
1. Open existing or new document in write
2. While holding down alt press any main menu's hot key

What happens:
The letter is inserted into the document. E.g. When trying to close a document.
Holding down alt and pressing F (for file menu) then releasing and pressing C
(for close), the character f and c are inserted.

What should happen:
Menu should be dropped down.
This works in OOo Calc and every othe Windows application I have ever seen.

Workaround:
Press and release Alt before pressing a menus hot key.

I suspect that this has something to do with some input language (e.g. Polish)
using Alt+[character] to insert certain characters.

I'm sorry if this issue already exists, I tried to find it using a duplicate
search as well as a keyword search.

I cannot reproduce it. Please check this in a newer version and detail your
comment about "some input language (e.g. Polish) using Alt+[character]".

I am using English version of Windows 2003, using English (NZ) as my input language.

I am using writer in Ooo version 1.9.87 (so I hope selected the right version).

Ok, but, once again, you talked about an input language (Polish) which may
interfere with the normal input. Please detail!
Please check if there are no tools or IME grabbing the Alt key before reaching OOo.

The current version can be found there:

Please try it and reopen if it happens again.
