OO always create thumbnail of document as PNG image.
However, for people who not use these thumbnails,
this feature is waste of space and resources.

And - option to change resolution and size of thumbnails!!

Small thumbnails not (good) visible - large thumbnails make file very big.
Let user can set his own resolution and size (for all files or for every file)...

My opinion:
A special setting is needed in "Tools->Options". By default OOo should store
thumbnails (initiating size and resolution should be chosen already).
