Example drawing file. Just drag to gallery and from there to a oo Text document
Reproducible. Reassigned. Hi, I've just taken another look at issue 52232 with the new release 2.0.0.1. It seems to behave a bit differently now. Dragging a diagram to the gallery now seems to preserve formatting of text-strings etc. (is this fixed by accident since it is still marked as new and targeted for OO-later?) BUT: In the text-processor, if I DRAG the object from the gallery to the text area it seems to be inserted ok. On the other hand, if I right-click on it in the gallery and say 'include a copy' it has all text formatting screwed up again as in the original posting. By analysing the contents of the odt file I have noticed the following: 1) Dragging from the gallery includes the drawing with all source text as an XML-Node of type <draw:g 2) Including a copy of the gallery object (right-click etc.) inserts an object of type <draw:frame with a <draw:image sub-node and a link to an svm object in the PICTURES/.... area Why the different treatment? From a user perspective I find the 2. solution better because: 1) The text-file is smaller 2) (more importantly) OO-wordprocessor allows a <draw:frame to be selected with a right-click and offers options for adding a frame around the drawing object Selecting a <draw:g object in a text-document doesn't allow a frame to be added around a drawing so easily. (On the german version the option 'Bild...' is missing on the pop-up resulting from a right-click) Personally, I find this one of the most annoying bugs as I do a lot of technical docs with seperate text drawing files. The diags for the final document are maintained in the drawing file. With this bug I have to export each drawing individually from the drawing-tool as an svm and reimport in the word-processor to get the required result. Dragging through the gallery would be so much easier. Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org". |
