Description chigye 2005-08-08 15:49:32 UTC
We have several documents that have hyperlinked TOC in MS Office. Our users
ctrl+click to follow hyperlink to a form letter and use this master document
100's of times a day (each).

We recently upgraded from OO 1.9.104 to 1.9.122 and this feature no longer
seems to work.

In the previous version the hyperlinks in the TOC functioned, they don't in the
newer version - something has been broken and needs to be fixed.

I've attached a copy of one of our documents for example.

Thanks.

James

Word Doc with Hyperlinked TOC
Comment 2 chigye 2005-08-08 15:51:50 UTC
If it wasn't 'obvious' these Word documents are being opened in Writer.

MRU->ES: the TOC is imported correctly with Hyperlinks (see the Index dialog;
Entries tabpage). But they do not work anymore (which they once did; I tested
with 680m103).
Comment 4 eric.savary 2005-08-09 10:42:35 UTC
Tested with m113 and m123:
- m113: everything looks good:
+ Heading1 is mapped under "Additional Styles"
+ but ALL headings from 1 to 10 are also mapped under "Tools -Outline Numbering"

- m123: hyperlink don't work because:
+ Headings 1-3 are mapped under "Additional Styles"
+ NONE of Headings 1-3 are mapped under "Tools -Outline Numbering"

Work around:
- remove all headings from Additional Styles
- remap them under "Tools -Outline Numbering"

Note: it's a known (issue 3356) concept limitation that "Additional Styles"
can't get hyperlinks.

ES->MRU: you could forward this to hbrinkm, I guess.
Comment 5 michael.ruess 2005-08-09 11:14:42 UTC
MRU->HBRINKM: there are no headings listed anymore as Outline levels in
tools.Outline anymore.

Other than confirming this bug, I see no progress on it in any builds,
especially since it wasn't a pre-existing bug, it was one you introduced. I
thought this would be given higer priority to fix and put back the way you had
it as it wasn't previously broke. Let me know. Thanks.

I have tested this with both OO 2.0rc3 and 2.0final (just downloaded) and the
Hyperlink TOC issue is still not fixed. When you claim an issue is fixed it
would be helpful to say as of what downloadable version the fix will be in. I
have no idea if it was supposed to be in rc2, rc3, 2.0 final, 2.0.1
etc...please indicate. Thanks!

OD->chigye:
Please first look at the OOo workflow for fixing issues, before complain

The target for the fix for this defect is 'OOo 2.0.1' - see field 'Target milestone'
The fix is made in CWS swnumtree, which is planned to be integrated into the OOo
2.0.1 codeline. When the CWS swnumtree is ready, it is handed over to the
quality assurence to verify the fixes. When all fixes in the CWS are verified,
the CWS is nominated. A nominated CWS for a given target milestone can then be
integrated into the codeline.

This is the OOo workflow for fixing a defect.
Comment 15 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2005-10-27 08:24:36 UTC
OD->MRU: Checked in internal installation set of cws swnumtree - please verify.

re-open issue and reassign to mru@openoffice.org
