Description donricardo 2005-08-12 09:21:29 UTC
Good Morning
With elder Office-Versions, I was used to select individual slide in the Slide
Sorter and having print them out as a Handout.
In the new beta version, either I fill in each slide number in the printing
form, or I will get all slides, regardless of my selection. The option radio
button 'selection' remains greyed out.
Maybe this feature is on the list of things to do, or maybe it is already
reported (I couldn't find it).
It would be nice if this could be implemented - a very great thank you in advance!
With kind regards
Richard Moor

Sorry, not reproducible. When I want slide 1,2,5,6 on a handout I get them there.
Did you set handout under file/print/options/contents?

Thanks for your help. Closed.

OK, I use version 1.9.118 (win XP, SP2) and I really cannot print the selection
(having selected different slides with CTRL-Klick in the slide sorter, so the
selected ones get a fat border, printing out remaining in the slide sorter window).
Yes, I did set handout under file/print/options/contents. And in the
print-dialogue the radio button 'selection' remains greyed out.
This happens for my HP OfficeJet printer as well as for my Xerox Phaser 6100.
It happens for an old presentation (created with V 1.x) as well as for a brand
new one.
Do you need screen-shots? Did you try it on a Windows-PC?

Thanks in advance and kind regards, Richard

Ok, let me see if I do the right thing:
I have a presentation with 6 slides. I go to the slide sorter, where I select 3
slides (1,3,6). I stay in the slidesorter and use file/print/options to check
"handout" and uncheck "drawing". In the print dialog the selction checkbox is
greyed out. Right so far? Printing brings me all slides.
I used the printrange/pages option to specify the desired pages, what works.
In which version did you see this working (which "elder Office-Versions"? I
have tested this in 1.1.0 where it behaved the same.
If you have seen this in former times and not nowadays it is a bug. If this has
never behaved this way it is a feature. Thanks in advance.

Good Morning
Then it's a bug: it works with 1.1.4 (guess it did with 1.1.3 too). The
procedure is as you described. In 1.1.4 I have to select the slides in the slide
sorter with the SHIFT-key (just to say) and then in the print dialogue, in the
'pages' field the selected slides already appear (but the radio button is on the
'ALL' value). Strange but true: the radio button value 'selection' is also
greyed out [but I don't care]).
Well, this feature is very handy, since I produce handouts of my scripts for my
students.
The only thing that I don't know how it could be done is changing the initial
page-Number, so that when I print a follow up of the script it would start with
say page 17. But I think that's another story...
Would be great if you could fix that - a lovely feature!
By the way, 1.9.118 is really great - you've done fantastic work!
With kind regards, Richard

Ah, yes. Now I see. You are right, this is definitely a bug.

Reassigned.
Comment 8 wolframgarten 2005-08-16 09:13:28 UTC
Broken.
Comment 9 thb 2005-08-16 09:35:05 UTC
I managed to get the print range filled correctly once in m113, but most of the
time, this is indeed broken (the first slide of the range tends to work, but
only the first time - changing the selection afterwards still keeps the
previously selected slide).

@af: since you overhauled the slide sorter - could you please have a look where
the slide selection goes awry?
