To reproduce: 
* Open Impress 
* Use a slide template that includes an empty "Click to add text" box 
* Click in the text box, change the formatting (I changed the alignment and 
added bulletting).  Don't type anything. 
* Click outside the text box to deselect it 
* The formatting is lost and the box returns to "Click to add text"
