Description stanley87 2005-10-07 18:46:00 UTC
OpenOffice 2.0 rc1 seems unable to display my utf8 encoded Cyrillic filenames
correctly in the Open/Save dialogs. Even when I save a file with Cyrillic name
using OO, it is unable to restore the filename on the next Open. I reverted back
to OO 1.1.5 and it displays the names correctly. I am using OpenOffice 2.0.0_rc1
ebuild on Gentoo Linux, tried all combinations of USE flags without success.

I am having the same problem with Hebrew characters. Using gentoo as well, with
the prebuilt binary openoffice-bin-2.0.0
Comment 3 yhager 2005-11-26 20:09:36 UTC
Well, I've defined LC_ALL and LANG to be 'he_IL.UTF-8' (notice the UTF-8 -
that's the important part) - which made everything work just fine and dandy!

I suggest you to try and see if it works for you too.

Dup of or related to Issue 64764?

@stanley87
Can you pls. check whether Issue 64764 also covers your problem?

If not, please contribute a testfile 'test.odt' containing a not working
filename as text, so that we can try to reproduce your problem with that filename.
