Confirmed - OOo 2.0 Windows XP SP2 Changed type to enhancement. (Feel free to argue on this one, but it doesn't seem to me that existing functionality is broken so much as a desired enhancement to functionality isn't there yet.) Thanks for confirming. But marking as DEFECT/ENHANCEMENT is not a matter of personal taste in this case: just ask the OOo Help, section "drag and drop;pictures". The procedure thereby described does not work in this case. So this functionality is not working as described, hence this is a DEFECT. I expect you to change the Issue Type back to DEFECT or to give explanations. After reading the OOo Help concerning drag and drop pictures, I agree with you; functionality does not work as is described in the Help. Changed type back to defect. Also, I found a workaround. It seems that pressing the CTRL key (in order to make a copy) allows you to drag and drop a copy of the picture across two documents. So those trying to do this can first create a copy, then delete the original. confirmed reassigened to me, to finde a developer for this set target OOo later because this does not work in OOo 7 either . it works but not exactly like described in the help. select the picture, reclick on it with the mouse hold the mousebutton pressed and then you are able to drag and drop the picture to any other windows. reassigend to fl like discussed please take a look. I consider this a usability issue. Problem is that OOo divides D&D and moving objects inside the document. Without that knowledge the user asumes that moving is not possible at all. D&D will start with a delay only if the object has been selected before. Recommendation. Combine moving and D&D to one funciton. Show preview of object inside the document and convert moving action to a system D&D when moving outside the application window. I have set the target to OOo 3.0 because this is an important usability aspect. set target to OOo 2.x Set target to OOo 3.0.
