Description joker667 2005-10-25 20:08:31 UTC
I wrote an ooo2-writer File under ubuntu-linux 5.10, and saved it as .sxw. But
the next day ooo2 was unable to open it, it just took a long time with many
hdd-access, and then saying "couldn't recover file". I tried to open it with
star office 8 under Windows XP, same failure. But then I tried Star Office7 and
it opened it! I saved it again, and this new file could be opened in ooo2 and
Star Office 8 again - and it was about one forth smaller.

I used Open Office 1.9.129 under ubuntu linux and Star Office 8 Final under
Windows XP. "pervasive step73.sxw" is the File that didn't work, and "pervasive
step74.sxw" is the new one converted with star office 7.
And I am on holiday for 2 weeks ;)

For my records...
Maybe a duplicate of issue 56518.
Need further analyse on this.
Comment 5 eric.savary 2005-10-28 13:50:18 UTC
duplicate fixed.

To repair your file:
- unzip the file
- load the contenxt.xml in a editor
- replace all _5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f_5f... to
get only one _5f.
- save
- rezip file
