Configuration:
FR localized version
documents saved in Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP format

Problem:
The revision number (Fichier/Propriétés/Général/Numéro de révision) does not
work. My document was saved a dozen times and the number still indicates 1.

Reassigned to FLR.

In addition to .doc files, this issue also occurs for .txt and .rtf files. It
seems that the revision update only works for Open Office's own file types
including HTML.

STEPS
- From the FILE menu, navigate to the NEW submenu to create a new TEXT DOCUMENT
- Enter some text and save the file from the FILE menu option or from the
toolbar icon
- From the FILE menu, navigate to PROPERTIES and in the GENERAL tab, the
revision number is displayed as 2
- From the FILE menu, navigate to SAVE AS and save the file in any format other
than the Open Office file types
- Select YES from the confirmation prompt
- Enter some more text and save
- Observe that the revision number has not reflected the changes

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR: the revision number reflects changes regardless of file type

This problem occurs on both Windows and Linux platforms (Windows XP and Fedora
Core 3) using Open Office 2.0.

When saving as another file type besides the Open Office default, the dialog box
does warn that some information will be lost during the conversion. The
revision property has clearly been affected by this.

To work around this problem, the SAVE AS option can convert the non-Open Office
file type to the standard Open Office format. The revision number will then be
updated from that point forward.
