Description fcoiffie 2005-11-10 08:24:49 UTC
Currently, BOOLEAN values are displayed in cells with 'TRUE' or 'FALSE' world.

It could be possible to display these values with a checkbox in the cell.
'TRUE' -> checked
'FALSE' -> unchecked

Hi,

this is possible. Have a look at the attached document. Use View-toolbars-Form
Controls to toogle the Design Mode, select a contol and choose Control from the
context menu.

The purpose of this enhancement isn't to put a control on a cell and to resize
it to fit the cell size.

In fact, I would like to be able to format boolean value as a checkbox. For
example, we can choose the precision of a decimal number, percent, date, or
test type. It could be useful to have a boolean type which is displayed by a
checkbox (without label, just a checkbox). If the checkbox is checked, the
celle value is 1. So, we can use this cell to make some computations.
Seconldy, we can copy this cell (or duplicate it) as any other cells.

requirements have to decide. IMHO this isn't really necessary as this can be
done with the form controls. I agree that it takes some time to do so, but a use
case is IMHO seldome.
