Description andreschnabel 2005-11-11 19:55:53 UTC
The provided example file cannot be opened with OOo 2.0. It's a file that has
been created with OOo 1.1.4 and can be loaded with that version (although you
will need a lot of memory and some time).

OOo 2.0 will load the file (at least progress bar indicates so) but when going
to calculate, OOo will allocate more and more memory, 100% CPU usage endlessly
(at least for about 15 minutes)

Hi Niklas,

tried to open the file with SO8 and got a looping Office. Opened it with SO7 and
after a short time it opened without any problem.

So this is a regression and should be fixed for OOo2.0

Comment 5 niklas.nebel 2006-01-23 11:19:21 UTC
This won't be done in time for 2.0.2, so I'm changing the target to 2.0.3.
Comment 6 christof.pintaske 2006-01-23 14:15:08 UTC
wrong issue, keep on 2.0.2
Comment 7 niklas.nebel 2006-01-31 18:31:38 UTC
The file can be loaded, it just takes quite long (about 1 hour on a fast system
under Windows - note that it needs more than 1GB of memory).

The file contains a lot of long formulas, and loading is much faster (13
minutes) when compiled with FORCE_SYSALLOC set, so it looks very similar to
internal #125511# (slow memory allocation in certain patterns), which has
already been retargeted to 2.0.3.
Comment 8 matthias.huetsch 2006-04-13 12:14:41 UTC
The cause for this issue is indeed the same as for Sun internal issue #125511#
=> accepted.

Fix will be implemented on cws_src680_mhu12.
Comment 9 matthias.huetsch 2006-04-20 12:32:50 UTC
Fixed on cws_src680_mhu12.
Comment 10 b.osi.ooo 2006-04-27 13:19:15 UTC
verified in CWS mhu12
takes about 10 minutes
