Thanks a lot for UR office. Made a good job to f..k MS. but some problems
arised with OPenoffice 1.0, im just 1 just 1 day using it and already found 2
bugs. But i'm not a programmer, i'm a designer and bug fixing is not my best
side :) (if theres such one)
1. in Calc - theres no WRAP TEXT function. This is USEFULL. got to be there.
2. everywhere in OO.org 1.0 - start printing, seeing window PRINT, and u cant
preview page for this point. U have to or print (dont know what) or preview
page. If U're making a MS office mirror (good one, really good), look there
once again, in MS, in window PRINT u'll see button PREVIEW. this thing will be
good to add there.

but any way, thanks once again for your job

When you mean that a text is wrapped inside a cell, this function is
there.
Go to Format -> Cell -> Alignment -> Text flow -> Word Wrap (I'm using
the German version, so I'm using maybe not the exact names).
The preview button in the print dialog is an enhancement. Therefore I
made the according changes to the issue.

Vote for preview-function in print-dialog
Comment 3 Rainer Bielefeld 2003-09-05 12:47:37 UTC
I do not see a real problem with the actual way how to use a print
preview, but sometimes I would like a preview button as a more elegant
possibility for a last check before print.

So
- new
- Priority 5

I can't even find any print preview feature for a text document.
Comment 5 aschrage 2003-09-19 10:28:06 UTC
Look in the File-Menu. The command is marked with a microscope (in the
German version I'm using it is called 'Seitenansicht/Seitendruck')

In what version? In my 1.0.3, I have a "Page Preview"
(=Seitenansicht/Seitendruck) in spreadsheets, but not in other
document types as text document (Writer).

Hi Marius,

seems that you have quite another 1.0.3 than me ;-)
pls. see attached screenshot with my print preview.

But here we are not discussing concerning this possibility, this issue
is a request for an additional preview in the print dialog.

> Hi Marius,

I use the original debian package of the english version. Are you sure
the german version isn't a patched version of the original. I know the
norwegian version (distrubuted at www.openofficeorg.no) has small
modifications to solve some problems, in particular those related to
non-english versions/locales.

> pls. see attached screenshot with my print preview.

I have attached my file menu. Should I file another bug for this, or
do you have an explanation? Could someone with an english original
version of OO verify this?

I know, but was the closest bug I found to this issue, and it seemd to
assume that there in fact was a such feature.

Rainer / Marius:
I remember OOo 1.1 betas and RC's having some problems with vanishing
menuitems when the toolbars are changed. Unfortunately, I cannot point
you to an issue.
Marius:
- does this happen on a fresh install?
- does this happen with original OOo-version (not debian package?)

The german version of OOo is as original as it can be (in some details
even more original than the english one). Debian packages are derived
works, debian is using some patches so this may be the cause.

BTW ... if this could really be confirmed, pleas open a new issue!
This isuue is a enhancement with very low priority (so not very
likeliy to be fixed before 2.0).
Comment 12 mkotsbak 2004-12-13 16:53:41 UTC
I can't reproduce the missing page view menu item in my OO 1.1 in Debian.
Comment 13 philipp.lohmann 2011-04-05 08:15:09 UTC
print preview in the print dialog is in since OOo 3.3.
