Description magi 2005-12-07 05:27:34 UTC
Open Tools/Outline numbering/Numbering, change the "Paragraph style" in some
level, and the paragraph styles in some or all other levels are changed to "none".

This therefore prevents changing the paragraph styles associated with outline
levels. This possibility might not be needed every day, but is still an
important feature. Many users may also accidentally change the outline styles,
and as this doesn't work, it effectively corrupts their documents.

The problem occurs at least in m142 and m143. My platform is (k)ubuntu.

MRU->OD: This is the same as internal #125998. Please close (or reassign to me)
the internal task and keep the public instead. Your evaluation there was:
My evaluation reveals that this defect already occurs with save/reload:
- Open new Writer document
- Open Outline Numbering dialog
- switch styles for level 1 and 2
- Confirm dialog
- Open Outline Numbering dialog again
--> style Heading 2 on level 1 and no style on level 2
This defect also occurs in SO6 PP3 and SO7 PP5 --> no regression.

Defect cause:
The styles Heading 1, Heading 2, ..., Heading 10 aren't created yet and method
<SwOutlineTabDialog::Ok()> doesn't consider this case

The defect doesn't occur, if the styles Heading 1, Heading 2, ..., Heading 10
are already used in the document.

corrected some fields.

accepted.

OD->magi24:
The above given statement, which is copied by MRU from internal issue 125998,
described somehow a special change in the paragraph style assignment of the
outline numbering dialog.
Question: What are the exact actions you performed to corrupt the paragraph
style assignment in the outline numbering dialog?
Note: A change of the paragraph style for level 5 to "Text Body" and setting the
paragraph styles of level 4 and 6 to "none" doesn't corrupt the assignment.

I can't get this replicated any more in OOB680_m1. This might mean that the
problem has been fixed, but doesn't necessarily, as in 2.0.1 it occurred in one
computer, but not in another.

I'll have to reinstall 2.0.1 to test it again.

OD->magi24:
Thx for the fast answer.
Can you please give the steps, which leads to a corrupted assignment in OOo 2.0
resp. SRC680m142/m143.
Comment 6 magi 2006-02-26 18:53:45 UTC
I finally noticed what causes this. Here are the steps:

- Create or open a text document
- Select Tools -> Outline numbering
- Select Numbering tab
- Select some outline level
- Change the paragraph style with the mouse wheel (not from keyboard)

All the other style associations, except for the selected level, disappear in
the box on the right. Changing the paragraph style works just fine from
keyboard, but not with mouse wheel.

And yes, this occurs still in OOB680_m5.

OD->magi24:
Thanks for the information.
Comment 8 magi 2007-02-05 14:07:06 UTC
This still exists in 2.1.

In only occurs if you change the associated style with mouse wheel. If you
change it from keyboard it doesn't occur, nor it does occur with mouse wheel if
you first changed it from keyboard or select the style from the list with mouse
by clicking.
