Description sysyim 2005-12-23 13:14:19 UTC
When I start the database program and try to use it to manipulate an existing
database on my Linux system, OpenOffice Base crashes. I can repeat this problem
everytime. Here are the steps:

In the Database Wizard select "Connect to an existing database" and "MySQL",
click "Next", choose "Connect using JDBC", click "Next", enter the name of my
database which exists locally on the MySQL installation I have, enter
"127.0.0.1" as the server URL, leave other options as default. Click "Test
class". After about 30 seconds, OO crashes with attached crash report.

The crash report says,
"Video Driver is probably radeon
DESKTOP_SESSION is set to kde
libgcj version is libgcj-4.0.1-4.fc4"

I have an ATI Radeon 7500 graphics card, using KDE version 3.4.0-6 Red Hat, on
Fedora Core 4.

Hi,

What java version do you use?

You can see it at Tools / Options / OpenOffice.org / Java.

Can you test with a different java version?

Bye Marc
