please open the attache spreadsheet ..

- note that the axis format of the chart is identical to the format of the data
cells (2 decimals places)

- select A1:B21

- click the button to add a decimal place, so that we now have 3 decimal places

- note that these changings are not adopted by the chart, although both axes
have "Source format" checked!

The users expects here that "Source format" checked means that this is adopted
for the chart axes.

Unchecking "Source format" seems to have no effects.

As far as I remember this works correct in Excel97. (But I cannot test this
again before next week.)

choose Tools->Cell Contents->Recalculate for the chart to update. Maybe this 
should happen automatically => enhancement

I just have tested Excel97. It automatically updates the chart.

This is what the user expects. So this should also work in Calc without the 
need of pressing F9.

In my oppionion this is a defect, not an "ENHANCEMENT".

->NN: What do you think, do we have better changes for getting a change
notification in the new chart when the number format of cells changes?

Sending change notification whenever the formatting (or the underlying styles!)
change (e.g. bckground color) would be too much, so we need a specific update
when the number format changes by any means (also conditional formatting).

Please take care of this issue.

Btw., I think this should be fixed for the new chart only.

Just a status update from a user point of view: Bug still present in OOo 3.1.0, more specifically 
OOO210m11 (Build 9399) for Mac OS X.

Also due to results in Bug 122973 any number format in chart will not be adapted to changed source format before <f9> or chart edit mode.
